In her 40’s Dawn developed skin Cancer which piqued her interest in skincare leading her to follow her true passion and furthering her education becoming a Licensed Aesthetician as well as her training and certification as an Aesthetic Injector. Botox Cosmetic® is an injectable treatment for wrinkles caused by repeated
movements. The area most commonly treated include:
• Horizontal lines across the forehead
• Crows feet
• Lines between the brows
• Bunny lines in nasal area
Yes, Botox Cosmetic® is approved for the temporary improvement of wrinkles
between the eyebrows, known as glabellar lines as well as for crows feet, known as
lateral canthal lines.
BOTOX Cosmetic® is a purified protein that blocks the release of a substance called
acetylcholine. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe wrinkles
to form creating a refreshed appearance.
Once you and Shannon have decided that Botox is the best option for you, she will
administer a number of injections into the muscles. The amount of Botox Cosmetic®
used will depend on your individual needs and muscle activity.
BOTOX Cosmetic® on average 3-4 months. The treatment takes approximately one week to take full effect. Often, repeated treatments can lead to longer results.
The injections are very small and done with an ultra fine needle. Most patients
say it feels similar to a little pinch and are pleasantly surprised at what little if any discomfort they feel. At Shannon's office we apply a topical anesthetic cream prior to injections.
Although extremely rare, a patient may experience inflammation, tenderness,
edema, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.
The cost of treatment is quite affordable. It varies widely and a consultation can give
you a specific amount. The cost can range from $300 and up depending on the amount injected.
We ensure you that you will get the look you want. Most people simply want to look
natural, refreshed and improve the appearance of wrinkles. Although results are evident, Botox Cosmetic® will not give the look of “having work done”.
BOTOX® targets and relaxes your facial muscles to keep them from creating wrinkles. Fillers smooth and fill in more severe wrinkles, restoring fullness and
volume to the skin. Botox Cosmetic® is both a corrective and preventive measure against future facial lines and Filler is a way to correct existing lines.
Botox Cosmetic® and Dysport® are quite similar. Both are a form of botulinum toxin type A and achieve similar results. The formulations do differ, so the potency and price per unit differ as well. Shannon will help you decide which product would best suit your individual needs.
Botox Cosmetic® is FDA approved for treatment of glabellar and lateral canthal
lines. However, Botox Cosmetic® can be used to treat lines in other areas as well
as also used to reduce excessive sweating known as hyperhidrosis and to relieve
chronic migraines.

Newer areas that are being treated include the age-defining wrinkles around the mouth, nose and the thick muscle bands of the neck.
